Preheat skillet over medium heat. Unstintingly butter one surface of a slice of bread. Arrange bread butter-side-down onto skillet back and add 1 part of cheese. Butter another slice of bread on one surface and place butter-side-up on top of the sandwich. Grill until mildly cooked and flip over; continue grilling until cheese is softened. Reappear with the remaining 2 slices of bread, butter, and a slice of cheese.
